One person answers this, usually within a couple of days. If it's about a race that's already running, say so in the subject line.

Tell us your device and OS version, roughly when it happened, and — if it's a team problem — your team name. That's usually enough to find it without a back-and-forth.

Common questions

How do my two vans see each other?

The captain creates a team in Settings and shares the invite code from Menu → Share Links; everyone else joins with it. After that, each logged handoff and split shows up on the other van's phones automatically. If you'd rather keep everything off the internet, use Menu → Transfer Race Data to trade splits by QR code instead, and switch Live cloud sync off in Settings.

How do friends and family follow along?

They can look your team up by name at relay-tracker.com, or you can send them the live link from Menu → Share Links — the view link is the one for them, with a share button and a QR code. Spectators see the race read-only; they can't change anything.

The app says "Offline" or the other van's splits aren't arriving.

Relays go through a lot of dead zones, and that's expected: the app keeps working, and it catches up on its own once a phone gets signal again. Nothing you logged is lost. If a push was rejected, Menu → Transfer Race Data has a Retry button. If one phone still never catches up, check that it hasn't been signed out — signing out changes your identity and the team will stop accepting its writes until you sign back in.

My exchange alerts never fired.

Approach alerts are scheduled locally from the predicted clock, so they need notification permission granted. On Android they also need Alarms & reminders enabled for Relay Tracker in system settings — it's off by default, and without it the 3 a.m. wake-up call is delayed or silent. Tapping a wake-up-lead option in Settings will offer to open that screen for you.

I tapped RUNNER IN by mistake.

Use the UNDO on the snackbar that appears, or Menu → Undo last RUNNER IN. Any split can also be corrected by hand afterwards — nothing in the race log is locked.

My phone died / I got a new one mid-race.

If the team is on cloud sync, rejoin with the same invite code and the race comes back. If you were fully offline, have a teammate open Menu → Transfer Race Data and scan the code they show you under Set up a teammate's phone — that rebuilds the race on your device.

Is my race data private?

If you never create or join a team, nothing leaves your phone. If you're in a team, that team's race data — including runner names — is synced so teammates and fans can follow it, and it's viewable read-only by anyone who looks up the team name. There are no ads, no advertising identifiers, and no usage analytics. Full detail in the privacy policy.

Deleting your data

You don't need to email us for any of this:

If you can't reach the app for some reason, email scagladjack@gmail.com with your team name or invite code and we'll do it for you.

Reporting a bug or asking for a feature

Email works for both — the address above. Course data problems are especially worth reporting: a leg with the wrong distance or a missing elevation profile gets fixed for everyone at once, so tell us the race and the leg number.
